GOSTISBEHERE, McDAVID AND PANARIN VOTED CALDER TROPHY FINALISTS

The NHL announced that defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere of the Philadelphia Flyers, forward Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers and forward Artemi Panarin of the Chicago Blackhawks are the three finalists for the 2015-16 Calder Memorial Trophy, which is awarded “to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition.”

MURRAY STEALS SPOTLIGHT IN GAME 3 WIN
With starting goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury dressed for the first time since March 31, Matt Murray made a career-high 47 saves – including 19 in the third period – to help the Penguins hold off the Capitals and take a 2-1 lead in their Second Round series.

Murray moved to 5-1 with a 1.79 goals-against average and .944 save percentage and one shutout since taking over the Pittsburgh net in Game 3 of the First Round at NYR. He owns a 9-2-0 record in 13 career appearances during the regular-season (2.00 GAA, .930 SV%, 1 SO).

CAPITALS FIRE AWAY
The Capitals had 85 shot attempts and landed 58 hits in their bid to win Game 3. They were led by defenseman John Carlson (0-1—1), who paced the team with eight shots on goal, and captain Alex Ovechkin (1-1—2) who shared the team lead with nine hits (tied w/ Marcus Johansson). Carlson leads the club with nine points this postseason (3-6—9), while Ovechkin – who found the net with seven of his 18 shot attempts – has collected 8-9—17 in 13 career Game 3s.

START TIMES, BROADCAST SCHEDULE SET FOR WEEKEND GAMES

The NHL announced the following updates to the Second Round schedule:

  • The start time for Game 5 between the Stars and Blues has been set for 1 p.m. ET / noon CT on Saturday in Dallas (NBC, SN, TVAS).
  • The start time for Game 5 between the Capitals and Penguins has been set for 7:15 p.m. ET on Saturday in Washington (NBC, CBC, TVAS).
  • The start time for Game 5 between the Sharks and Predators, if necessary, has been set for 10 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. CT / 7 p.m. PT on Saturday in San Jose (NBCSN, CBC, TVAS).
  • The start time for Game 5 between the Lightning and Islanders has been set for 3 p.m. ET on Sunday in Tampa Bay (NBC, SN, TVAS).
