WINDSOR CLIPPERS LOSE SEMI FINAL OPENER
The Windsor Clippers dropped the opening game of the western conference semi final series to the Six Nations Rebels 12-7. The Clippers got into penalty trouble early and fell behind, giving up 4 first period power play goals. Despite the early trouble, the Clippers trailed 4-2 after the first period.
The Clippers outscored the Rebels in the second period 3-2, and trailed 6-5 going into the final frame.
In the third period the Rebels extended their lead to 7-5, but the Clippers pulled within one goal at 7-6. The Clippers suffered a few defensive miscues, and before you knew it the Rebels scored five times in a span of seven minutes to go up 12-6. The Clippers got one back late in the period to make it a 12-7 final.
Blain Wallace led all Clippers scorers with three goals. Singles were scored by Jackman Schooley, Jack Dunn, Jonathan Jenkins and Zane Dalpe. Carson Hebner suffered the loss in goal, but made 54 saves on the night.
