Express Nation,

Basketball has long been described as a beautiful, athletic and powerful team game.

In Windsor, we know it’s more than just a game though. It’s about community, it’s about hard work, it’s about family and it’s about rallying a city behind one cause to cheer as loud as you can.

We are so fortunate to have passionate fans that each season become a part of our family. You bring your friends, your children, your parents and you support us through all of the makes and misses, the ups and downs. You live Express basketball through each cheer and each high five.

Thank you for believing in us.

Our goal this season was to bring Windsor a three-peat and become the first team in league history to do so. Although we did not accomplish that final goal, we are able to look back at what was nonetheless another very memorable season.

  • We played host to the NBA Development League’s Raptors 905 in an exhibition game at the WFCU Centre. This was Raptors 905 first ever game as a franchise and the first time an NBL team had ever played an NBA D-League team.
  • We raised another championship banner at our home opener to commemorate back-to-back NBL Canada championships.
  • We won our third consecutive “Clash at the Colosseum” at Caesars Windsor over our rivals the London Lightning. This year’s installment was the most successful to-date.
  • We honoured local police, firefighters, EMS, and military service men and women in our most successful “Heroes Night” event.
  • We helped raise thousands of dollars for local charities through various fundraisers at home games.

We won together and we lost together. We rejoiced after a playoff series victory and agonized after a playoff series defeat, the first in three seasons. Those moments – good and bad – motivate us. We hold ourselves to a high standard and we realize we didn’t achieve our ultimate goal this season. It drives us to work that much harder to make this great city proud and to continue building on the strong foundation of our team and culture.
We’re proud to have won 27 playoff games over the last three seasons, the most by any NBL team in a three-year span. But there’s still much more to do, and we plan to do it united as an organization and city.
Thank you, once again for being a part of the Express family this season and we look forward to continuing our journey with you Windsor.
