LIONS HEAD COACH MATT PATRICIA
Opening Statement: “Obviously, not a good game. We have to go out and perform better, we have to start better, we have to get things fixed, we have to get back to work. Coaching-wise here, we have to get the team ready to go. We have to go out and perform better and when we step on that field we have to execute. So, give the Bears credit. They did a great job and they had a good game-plan. They came out and played well. Their players were ready to go and they beat us.”
LIONS QB MATTHEW STAFFORD
On the difficult in losing consecutive games to division opponents: “You just have to put your head down and go to work. It’s difficult, obviously. (I) hate losing games, especially to a division opponent. All the work we put in during the week, all the effort you put in to get your body right, to get your mind right, to get ready to go play—not coming out of it on the positive end of it is tough.”
LIONS RB KERRYON JOHNSON
On why the losses keep happening “We shoot ourselves in the foot. I had a fumble. That was a drive after they missed a field goal. That’s a huge drive for us. Defense got the stops that we needed, and I went out there and I fumbled. We made some other mistakes as a team. We keep shooting ourselves in the foot.”
LIONS S GLOVER QUIN
On missing Darius Slay “It was different. We still got to go out and play. We just didn’t play good enough today.”
LIONS LB JARRAD DAVIS
On the frustration with the play of the team “It’s a lot of things that went into it. A lot of confusion. We practice hard every day of the week. To come out and perform like this – Sunday in, Sunday out – it’s tough. It’s tough. It’s hard to describe it. Just got to take these as learning experiences and continue to grow. Come into a game, we got to continue to work and attack teams defensively, and make sure that they understand what they are playing. We have to do that from the first play of the game to the end of the game. We haven’t put a full game together yet.”
