CALDWELL IS A CUBS FAN
When asked if he was a Cubs fan or a White Sox fan Lions Head Coach Jim Caldwell said: “Cubs, they used to have the parks and recreations programs, you remember those. They had them across your city. They had all these different groups that would run certain playgrounds at different schools, so we all had things to do. We all competed against each other in different sports during the summer, but then they’d take you on field trips and so they always took (you) on a field trip where you could go. Take a bunch of kids in a bus and we would go to watch the Cubs. We’d go and watch the Brewers. You’d be fairly high up, but nevertheless you’d be in the stadium and it was a lot of fun. I was during the days of Billy Williams and Ernie Banks, you know that whole group and I’ve been following them for quite some time. It was a lot of fun back in those days, so glad to see them doing well.”
