DETROIT LIONS VS PITTSBURGH STEELERS BY THE NUMBERS
The following are from the Detroit Lions’ 20-15 loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Ford Field on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
With a start against the Pittsburgh Steelers, G T.J. Lang started in his 100th game in the NFL and played in his 125th career game.
K MATT PRATER
K Matt Prater connected on five field goals (48, 37, 51, 34 and 19 yards) vs. Pittsburgh and tied a career single-game high. Along with his total of five field goals at New Orleans December 4, 2016, Prater has joined K Jason Hanson as the only kickers in team history to record five field goals in a game at least twice. Hanson accomplished this three times.
Five field goals ties for the third-highest single-game total in Lions history. Prater has now made 4+ field goals in nine career games, including four with the Lions.
In the first half, Prater made field goals of 48, 37, 52 and 34 yards. He became the first Lions kicker with four field goals in the first half since Hanson (4) vs. Minnesota October 17, 1999.
FROM 50 AND BEYOND: With a 51-yard field goal in the second quarter against Pittsburgh, Prater connected on the 20th 50+-yard field goal since joining Detroit in 2014, and he becomes the second player in franchise history with at least 50+-yard field goals. He joined K Jason Hanson (52, 1992-2012) as the only Lions kickers to achieve this during their Lions careers.
By making 20 50+-yard field goals with the Lions, Prater became the first player in NFL history to make at least 20 50-yarders with two different teams. He also made 21 during his stint with Denver (2008-13).
When Prater reached 20 50+-yard field goals with the Lions, Detroit became the second franchise to feature two different kickers (Hanson, 52 and Prater, 20) who made 20+ 50+-yard field goals with that club. The only franchise to achieve this is the Denver Broncos, and Prater (21) was one of the pair of Broncos kickers, along with K Jason Elam (37, 1993-2007), to connect on 20 50-yard field goals for that franchise.
Prater surpassed Hall of Fame K Morten Andersen for the fourth-most career 50+-yard field goals in NFL history.

With 423 passing yards against Pittsburgh, Stafford has thrown for 350+ yards in 19 career games setting a new NFL record for the most games with 350+ passing yards in a player’s first nine NFL seasons. He passed the previous record of 18 set by Hall of Fame QB Dan Marino (1983-91)
This marked Stafford’s 36th career 300-yard game. He surpassed QB Warren Moon (35) for the SEVENTH-most 300-yard passing games by a quarterback in his first nine seasons.
Stafford’s 423-yard outing represents his eighth career 400-yard game, and he surpassed QB Peyton Manning (7, 1998-2005) for second place place on the list of 400-yard passing games by players in their first nine seasons.
