DETROIT PISTONS DANCE STUDIO AUDITIONS MAY 14

The Detroit Pistons Dance Studio is looking for dancers ages 6-14 who are talented, outgoing and energetic when auditions are held on Saturday, May 14 at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Dancers will have the opportunity to perform during select games and halftime shows with the Pistons Entertainment Team.

Auditions will take place in three groups – Mini Pistons Dancers (ages 6-9), Junior Pistons Dancers (ages 9-11) and Teen Pistons Dancers (12-14). All participants will learn a jazz and hip-hop routine to be performed in front of a panel of judges. Dancers will be judged on dancing ability, athleticism, personality, self-confidence and the ability to be a team player – all qualities that embody members of the Pistons Entertainment Team.

The Mini Pistons Dancers are scheduled to audition from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m., the Junior Pistons Dancers will take the floor from 11:00 a.m. – 12 noon and the Teen Pistons Dancers will audition from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Registration begins 30 minutes prior to each group session in the Dodge Atrium at The Palace of Auburn Hills. Dancers are required to wear non-marking sneakers and dance gear.

Members of the Pistons Dance Studio will be provided opportunities to experience dance at an elite level. Dancers will receive instruction from professional dancers from the Pistons Entertainment Team. Studio members also have an opportunity to earn a spot as a member of the Pistons Entertainment Team. Students will learn from choreographers who have danced on tour with Janet Jackson and on stage with Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Chris Brown and many more of the top artists in the music industry. The Pistons Entertainment cast have made appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Today Show, So You Think You Can Dance, have danced in the Pharrell Williams video “Happy” and performed on stage with Justin Bieber.
