Essex County’s First All-Girls Soccer League Kicks Off Registration

For the first time in Essex County, girls will have a soccer league to call their own. Unite Her Soccer, the region’s inaugural all-girls house league, is set to launch in May 2025, offering players aged eight and up (born 2007-2018) a unique opportunity to play in an empowering and inclusive environment.

Sponsored by Count Her In and registered with the Ontario Soccer Association, Unite Her Soccer provides a groundbreaking platform for girls to stay active, develop skills, and gain confidence. The program is also partnered with SC United Soccer Club, creating pathways to competitive leagues and post-secondary scholarships.

“This is about more than just soccer,” said Kara Murray, Founder of Count Her In. “We’re creating a space where girls can develop leadership, teamwork, and resilience—skills that will serve them far beyond the field.”

The need for a dedicated all-girls program is critical. Research shows that 7 in 10 girls drop out of sports before adolescence, often due to lack of access, loss of confidence, and the challenge of playing in male-dominated spaces. Unite Her Soccer aims to reverse this trend by fostering an environment where girls can thrive.

Don’t miss the chance to register your daughters for Unite Her Soccer and allow them to shine both on and off the field.
