Give the Gift of the Great Outdoors this Holiday Season
What do you get for that special someone who has everything? Instead of spending hours shopping, Essex Region Conservation is helping you give the gift of the great outdoors this holiday season.
Throughout the month of December, shoppers can purchase gifts that support the ongoing conservation work of the Essex Region Conservation Authority, which includes trail building and habitat restoration.
Some gifts can be used year-round, like the Conservation Areas Season Pass, which provides pass-holders unlimited access to all of the Essex Region’s conservation areas. The season pass also provides access to a number of events throughout the year, including the John R. Park Homestead’s Maple Syrup Festival in March, as well as the Holiday Beach Conservation Area’s annual Festival of Hawks in September.
“This is the gift of an experience. Instead of a physical object, this gift encourages people to get out an explore the amazing natural spaces our region has to offer.” – Danielle Breault Stuebing, Essex Region Conservation’s Director of Community Outreach.
Annual pass prices are also set to increase in January, so it’s the perfect time to get a deal for the new year.
For those active friends and family members, Essex Region Conservation is also offering the gift of healthy living. New this year, gift-givers can purchase passes to a wide range of active events happening throughout the year.
From the multi-sport challenge of the South Coast Adventure Race in June, to a leisurely ride on the Greenway at the Canada South Coast Bike Tour in September, giving the gift of active living has never been easier.
“We know that being in nature contributes to overall health and well-being. These gifts not only offer recipients a chance to experience the great outdoors, they can also take pride in knowing that they’re supporting their local environment,” Breault Stuebing adds.
Gift registrations for the slate of active events can be found online or by calling Alex at 519-776-5209 ext 367.
For more than four decades, Essex Region Conservation has been sustaining and enriching the environment of the Windsor-Essex-Pelee Island region to ensure it is the Place for Life.
