St. Clair Green Giants Swept in Canada Day Double Header

Game One (Grand River 8 Green Giants 0)
Game Two (Grand River 3 Green Giants 2)

There was no celebrating this Canada Day in the St. Clair College Green Giants dugout in Grand Haven Michigan.

The St. Clair Green Giants were swept by the Grand River Loggers in a Saturday doubleheader.
With the losses St. Clair drops to 13-9 and are now on a three game losing streak.
In game one, the Green Giants were dominated as they got “no-hit” by Loggers starter Will Abbott who went 7 innings, giving up no hits and four walks while striking out nine.
All but one Green Giant struck out in the game.

The final score in game one was 8- 0 for the Loggers.

In game two, it was more of the same as the Green Giants did not muster a hit until the 8th inning.
The game was still up for grabs thanks to the strong outing by Hunter Brown who went six scoreless innings of his own.
St. Clair had plenty of chances to win down the stretch as they had one run leads in both the 8th and 10th inning.
In the 8th inning Zachary Leone tied the game with a home run.
In the 10th with the Green Giants leading 2-1 and two outs Loggers outfielder Patrick Donohue doubled in the tying and game winning runs ending a frustrating day for the Green Giants.

The final score in game two was 3 – 2 for the Loggers.

St. Clair will be back in action Sunday, as they look to snap their losing streak against the Lake Erie Monarchs in Flat Rock, Michigan.

First pitch from Flat Rock Field is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
