The Grid Iron Gala you’re invited, a tailgate party you will NOT want to miss!

The GRID IRON Gala presented by Alpha Kai Omega Fraternity is Friday January 29th at the Caboto Club.

This star-studded event will be emceed by former NFL star Brett Romberg with special guest presentations by Luke Wilson, Tyrone Crawford, O.J Atogwe and Ed Philion.

On February 24, 2015, the AKO Board of Governors secured an operating license agreement with the Greater Essex County District School Board (GECDSB), which includes full ownership of the property remaining with the school board.

The agreement provides AKO with a 30-year license, with options to renew. Under the agreement AKO will operate and maintain the stadium as well as initiate capital improvements. It is the AKO’s firm belief that this partnership is the catalyst to a revitalized and re-energized Windsor Stadium and, in doing so, provide a greater outreach and improved opportunities to our youth and to our region.

OWNERSHIP

The Windsor Stadium will continue to be owned by the GECDSB as it has since January 1, 1998. The City of Windsor owns the change rooms and clubhouse facility that is currently occupied by AKO, located on McDougall between the stadium and the parking lot.

MANAGEMENT

With our combined wealth of knowledge and expertise, the AKO Board of Governors has been working with the school board since 2012 to develop a community-use facility that will be jointly used by both organizations and the community-at-large.
