Hamilton Bulldogs Defeat Windsor Spitfires
Brandon Saigeon scored three goals and Dawson Carty made 25 saves as the Hamilton Bulldogs doubled-up the Windsor Spitfires 6-3 at the First Ontario Centre Saturday night.
Marian Studenic, Michael Cramarossa and Matt Luff had the other goals for the Bulldogs (25-23-3-2) who scored three times while playing with the man advantage against Windsor’s league-leading penalty killing. One of those powerplay goals was Saigeon’s third of the night and was into an empty net.
Mikhail Sergachev, Gabe Vilardi and Graham Knott replied for the Spitfires (33-13-5-2). Windsor starting netminder Michael DiPietro was yanked following the first period after allowing three goals on 11 shots. He was replaced by Mario Culina who made 9 saves in a relief effort.
The Spitfires schedule has them head to Erie for a rare 5 p.m. Sunday game against the Otters at the Erie Insurance Arena.
