Russia defeated Team Canada East 6-1 in Whitby, Ont.

Adam Smith (Sharon, Ont./Newmarket OJHL) got the Team Canada East on the board early in the third period, but the Canadians fell to Russia, leaving their fate in Group B in the hands of the Russians and Swiss in Tuesday’s preliminary round finale.
