ALL CANADIAN TEAMS IN ACTION AS KAMLOOPS HOSTS HOCKEY DAY IN CANADA
Hockey Day in Canada kicks off in Kamloops, B.C. for the 16th year featuring a 13.5-hour national broadcast starting at Noon ET that includes all seven Canadian teams in action.
The broadcast will be hosted by Ron MacLean, on-site at the festivities in Kamloops, alongside multiple special guests including Don Cherry, Wendel Clark, Lanny McDonald, Kirk McLean and Darcy Tucker.
The full day of hockey programming will also include stories, features and interviews with President and CEO of Hockey Canada Tom Renney, former NHLer Mark Recchi and three-time Olympic Winter Games gold medalist Meghan Agosta.
MILESTONES & MUSINGS
- Coyotes captain Shane Doan (1-1—2) scored the 122nd power-play goal of his NHL career to tie Dale Hawerchuk for first on the Coyotes/Jets all-time list. With 387-541-928 (1,437 GP), Doan also sits one point shy of tying Hawerchuk (379-550—929 in 713 GP) for most points in franchise history.
- Penguins forward Chris Kunitz (0-2—2) eclipsed the 300-assist milestone (233-301—534 in 781 GP) and has points in four consecutive games (2-6—8).
- Penguins forward Oskar Sundqvist, the 81st overall selection in the 2012 NHL Draft, made his NHL debut (11:11 TOI).
