KINGSVILLE KINGS HEAD INTO HOLIDAY BREAK WITH TWO WINS

On Friday the Kings traveled to the Niagara region where they handed the Whalers just their second loss of the season, in a huge 5-3 victory.

Sparking the win was netminder Wes Werner who has returned from a stint in the Northern Ontario hockey circuit. Werner made 44 saves and was named the games first star in the big win over Niagara. Brendan Sorrels led the offence with a goal and a pair of goals.

Two days later in at home in Kingsville, the Kings raised their Greater Metro Junior ‘A’ Hockey League record to 23-6-0-3 as they blasted a short staffed Tillsonbrug Hurricanes, 15-3.

In this one, the last game before the holiday break, Matyas Kasek and Marek Malinsky each had three goals and three assists while Brendan MacKensize also netted a hat trick.

Kingsville is off until Jan. 8 when they host the London Lakers.

After 30 games, Tyler Garcia leads the Kings with 48 points while linemate Dan Leach has 47.
