Lasalle Vipers to face London Nationals in Round 2

The LaSalle Vipers will face the London Nationals in the second round of the 2016 GOJHL playoffs, which begins Wednesday night at the Western Fair Community Centre in London.

The Vipers and Nationals finished the regular season tied in wins (31), points (67) and head-to-head record (three wins each). London secured the second seed through a goals for/goals against formula.

LaSalle won the last two meetings between the two clubs, including 6-2 in the team’s regular season finale Feb. 28 at the Vollmer Centre.

The Vipers dispatched the Sarnia Legionnaires in a hard-fought seven games series in the opening round, while London got past the Strathroy Rockets in five.

Liam MacDougall, whose Game 7 hat trick boosted the Vipers past Sarnia, leads LaSalle in playoff scoring with eight goals and 13 points. His eight goals rank first in the entire GOJHL and his 13 points are second to Caledonia’s Corey Pawley.

London’s top offensive producers are Tanner Ferreira (1-6—7), Austin Kemp and Tyler Sehovic (six points each).

Game 2 goes Friday night in LaSalle at 7 pm. To reserve tickets call 519-251-5190 or email info@lasallevipers.com.
