Leamington Flyers Add Owen Holmes From OJHL’s 99’s

The Leamington Flyers have acquired forward Owen Holmes from the Brantford 99s of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Holmes has spent the last two seasons in the OJHL with the Georgetown Raiders and, most recently, the 99s and accumulated 20 goals and 17 assists for 37 points in 75 games.

The bulk of his offensive production has come this season, where he was second in team scoring with Brantford, putting up eight goals and five assists for 13 points in 17 games.

“We are excited to add an experienced player who can contribute to all situations for us,” Flyers general manager, Justin Solcz says. “Owen is here to help us reach our goal of winning a championship and we want to help him reach his goal of playing hockey at the next level.”

Holmes does have experience in the GOJHL, having suited up for the Niagara Falls Canucks and the Thorold Blackhawks, where he scored a combined 11 goals and added 32 assists for 43 points in 92 games.

The 20-year-old, St. David’s, Ontario native will be in the lineup for the Flyers this Thursday, when they host the top seeded London Nationals at the Nature Fresh Farm Recreation Centre at 7:10pm.
