Mayor McNamara’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament – 14 Years, Half a Million Dollars
On November 30, Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara and his planning committee shared proceeds of $50,000 from his 14th Anniversary Charity Golf Tournament held at Beach Grove on Monday, September 11.
As main beneficiary of proceeds from the 2023 tournament, representatives from the Community Support Centre of Essex County were presented with a cheque for $25,000 to be directed towards the various programs and service they provide to seniors in our community to help enhance their quality of life and help them remain independent.
“We are thrilled to earmark the majority of this year’s proceeds to the CSC as they celebrate their 40th anniversary of caring for the growing population of seniors in Windsor/Essex, stated Mayor McNamara. “Over the past 40 years, the CSC has serviced thousands of individuals by delivering innovative, client-centered health and community support services.”
Added Tracey Bailey, Executive Director of the Community Support Centre, “We were honoured to be recognized with 21 other community groups and charities. Thank you to the donors, players, sponsors, and all who played a part in making this magic happen. Thank you, Mayor McNamara, and the whole committee for your leadership, kindness and, of course, sweat equity!”
Over the past 14 years, the Mayor’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament has donated more than HALF A MILLION DOLLARS to benefit a long list of worthwhile causes in Tecumseh and the Windsor-Essex region.
The remaining $25,000 provided through the 14th anniversary tournament was shared amongst an additional 21 deserving community organizations.
