MONTGOMERY GENTRY TO PERFORM SATURDAY, JUNE 3 AT THE CHEVROLET DETROIT GRAND PRIX PRESENTED BY LEAR
One of country music’s most prominent duos will bring their blue collar sound to the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear as Montgomery Gentry will perform on the MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage on Saturday evening, June 3.
With a strong Kentucky sound led by Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, Montgomery Gentry will take the stage at Belle Isle Park shortly after the first Verizon IndyCar Series race of the Grand Prix weekend. All Saturday Grand Prix ticketholders are welcome to attend the concert at the MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment Stage, located in the Meijer Fan Zone, at no additional cost.
Montgomery Gentry made its debut in 1999 with the band’s first single titled “Hillbilly Shoes.” The eighth and most recent album from the duo – “Folks Like Us” – was released in 2015. Montgomery Gentry has produced 14 Top 10 singles and five No. 1 songs on the country charts including: “Something To Be Proud Of,” “If You Ever Stop Loving Me,” “Lucky Man,” “Back When I Knew It All” and “Roll With Me.”
“We are excited to once again work with MotorCity Casino Hotel to bring world-class entertainment to the Grand Prix in 2017,” said Bud Denker, Chairman of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear. “Montgomery Gentry will bring a different kind of sound and energy to the Grand Prix and we’re very excited to have them perform for our fans and celebrate a fun Saturday night on June 3rd at Belle Isle.”
The Montgomery Gentry concert will be the perfect culmination to an exciting Saturday at the Grand Prix, with races from all four series competing on track. The first race of the Verizon IndyCar Series Chevrolet Dual in Detroit will follow the exotic sports cars of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic. The Trans Am Series will also compete in the first race of the Motor City 100 and the high-flying trucks of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks race on Saturday as well. The Grand Prix worked with local radio partner NASH-FM 93.1 to make today’s announcement.
Jody Watley featuring Shalamar Reloaded on the MotorCity Casino Hotel will take the stage on Sunday, June 4, to go along with one of the best on-track lineups in racing.
