NAIT (Edmonton, AB) claimed the Bronze Medal at the CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship with a narrow 63-62 win over Sainte-Foy (Sainte-Foy, QC).
Trailing 41-38 at halftime NAIT staked themselves an 8-point lead heading into the fourth quarter and they needed every point as Sainte-Foy would make it interesting with a late comeback. It came down to the final possession but Sainte-Foy’s final shot attempt fell short that would have been the winner.
Nicole Ruptash (Sherwood Park, AB) scored 16 points including four triples on her way to the Player of the Game Award for NAIT. Laurie Marchand (Quebec City, QC) scored a game high 24 points for Sainte-Foy’s Player of the Game Award.
