NHL, PA ANNOUNCE ALL-STAR FORMAT, FAN BALLOTING
The NHL and NHLPA announced the format and fan balloting for the 2017 NHL All-Star celebration, which will be held Jan. 28-29 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.
Introduced at last season’s event, the NHL All-Star Game will return to a 3-on-3 tournament of three 20-minutes games, with players from each division making up the four All-Star teams. Each roster will include 11 players: six forwards, three defensemen and two goaltenders.
The 2017 NHL All-Star Fan Vote will determine the captains of the four teams, regardless of position, beginning next Thursday, Dec. 1. The remaining 40 All-Stars will be named by NHL Hockey Operations.
