LIGHTNING’S MAROON AND PERRY, MAPLE LEAFS’ SIMMONDS FINED FOR UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

Tampa Bay Lightning forwards Pat Maroon and Corey Perry have been fined $2,250 and $2,500, respectively, and Toronto Maple Leafs forward Wayne Simmonds has been fined $2,250 for unsportsmanlike conduct during Game 1 of their First Round series in Toronto on Monday, May 2, 2022.

The incidents occurred at 10:09 of the third period. Maroon was assessed a 10-minute misconduct; Perry was assessed a minor penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, a pair of minor penalties for roughing and a 10-minute misconduct; and Simmonds was assessed a 10-minute misconduct. The fine money, all the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

WILD’S SPURGEON FINED FOR CROSS-CHECKING

Minnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking St. Louis Blues forward Pavel Buchnevich during Game 1 of the teams’ First Round series in Minnesota on Monday, May 2, 2022. The incident occurred at 17:07 of the third period. Spurgeon was assessed a minor penalty for cross-checking. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

MAPLE LEAFS’ CLIFFORD SUSPENDED ONE GAME FOR BOARDING

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Kyle Clifford has been suspended for one game for boarding Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ross Colton during Game 1 of the teams’ First Round series in Toronto on Monday, May 2, 2022. The incident occurred at 6:57 of the first period. Clifford was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for boarding.
