WHEELER COLLECTS FOUR ASSISTS TO HELP JETS EXTEND POINT STREAK
Blake Wheeler matched a single-game career high with four assists to help the Jets extend their point streak to eight games (5-0-3) and improve to 8-3-3 (19 points) overall. Elias notes that the Jets are one game shy of matching the longest point streak in franchise history, a mark set by the Thrashers from Dec. 9-28, 2005 (6-0-3).
Wheeler has collected 4-9—13 in his past five games and 5-16—21 overall this season (14 GP). Elias notes that he required the second-fewest games in franchise history to hit the 20-point mark in a season, trailing only Ilya Kovalchuk in 2003-04 (13 GP).
Connor Hellebuyck made 33 saves to improve to 8-0-2 this season (2.12 GAA, .936 SV%), extending the longest season-opening point streak by a goaltender in franchise history.

Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin scored his 216th career power-play goal to surpass Joe Nieuwendyk (215) for sole possession of 12th on the NHL’s all-time list. Ovechkin is one such goal shy of tying Mike Gartner andJaromir Jagr for 10th place in NHL history.
RANGERS, CAPITALS RALLY TO EXTEND WIN STREAKS
The Rangers (7-7-2, 16 points) and Capitals (8-6-1, 17 points) each overcame multi-goal deficits to extend their respective win streaks.
