GOLDEN KNIGHTS RALLY TO EARN 16TH ROAD WIN
Reilly Smith (2-0—2) tied the game in the third period and Alex Tuch (1-1—2) scored the go-ahead goal with 5:12 remaining in regulation to help the Western Conference-leading Golden Knights improve to 35-13-4 (74 points) this season and move within one point of the League-leading Lightning (36-13-3, 75 points), who were idle on Sunday.
Vegas also improved to 16-10-2 (34 points) as visitors and moved within three road wins of matching the NHL record for most by a team in its inaugural season.
FLEURY, PRICE CLIMB ALL-TIME WINS LIST
Vegas’ Marc-Andre Fleury and Montreal’s Carey Price each climbed the NHL’s all-time wins list among goaltenders.
Fleury (20 saves) earned his 390th career win to pass Dominik Hasek (389) for sole possession of 13th place in NHL history.
Price (25 saves) earned his 285th career win to pass Tiny Thompson (284) for sole possession of 40th place in NHL history.
TROTZ PASSES RUFF FOR FIFTH-MOST GAMES AS HEAD COACH
Washington’s Barry Trotz coached his 1,494th career regular-season game to pass Lindy Ruff (1,493) for sole possession of fifth place on the NHL’s all-time list among head coaches.
