STAMKOS, KUCHEROV EXTEND POINT STREAKS TO 10 GAMES
Steven Stamkos (0-2—2) and Nikita Kucherov (1-0–1) each extended their season-opening point streaks to 10 games to power the Lightning to an 8-1-1 record, their best 10-game start to a season in franchise history.

Stamkos (3-17—20) and Kucherov (11-6—17) – who rank first and second, respectively, in League scoring – are the fourth set of teammates in the past 27 years to start a campaign on simultaneous point streaks of at least 10 games and first since 1992-93. That season, three different sets of teammates combined for the feat:Kevin Stevens (13 GP), Ron Francis (12 GP) and Mario Lemieux (12 GP) with the Penguins, Joe Juneau(14 GP) and Dimitri Kvartalnov (14 GP) with the Bruins, and Dave Andreychuk (17 GP) and Pat LaFontaine(11 GP) with the Sabres.

Stamkos and Kucherov are one game shy of matching the franchise record for longest point streak to begin a season, a mark set by Martin St. Louis in 2009-10 (3-12—15 in 11 GP).

GOLDEN KNIGHTS CONTINUE RECORD-SETTING START
Oscar Dansk made 29 saves in the first start of his NHL career to backstop the Golden Knights to their fourth consecutive win and a 7-1-0 record overall. Vegas became the first club in the 100-year history of the NHL to win seven of its first eight games in its inaugural season.

KEMPE POWERS KINGS TO 7-1-1 RECORD
Adrian Kempe (1-1—2) tied the game with 1:46 remaining in regulation and scored a highlight-reel goal (video below) in the shootout to power the Kings to a 7-1-1 record, equaling their best nine-game start to a season in franchise history (also 7-1-1 in 1980-81 and 1990-91).
