ANDERSEN SHINES IN MAPLE LEAFS VICTORY
Frederik Andersen made 47 saves through regulation and overtime before William Nylander scored the decisive marker in the shootout to help the Maple Leafs (18-10-1, 37 points) improve to 6-3-1 in their last 10 contests.

Andersen earned his 16th win of the season and trails only Andrei Vasilevskiy (18) for the League lead. He also improved to 4-0-1 in 2017-18 when making 40 or more saves (10-2-2 career) and leads all goaltenders in that category.

HENRIQUE SCORES TWICE IN DUCKS HOME DEBUT
While making his home debut with the Ducks, former Windsor Spitfire, Adam Henrique (2-0—2) scored his first game-winning goal of the season and added an empty-net tally to help Anaheim snap a three-game skid (0-1-2).

Ryan Miller turned aside all 29 shots he faced to record his first shutout of the season (40th career) and move into a tie with Frank Brimsek and John Vanbiesbrouck for second place all-time among American-born goaltenders. Miller trails only Jonathan Quick (46) for the most shutouts in NHL history by a U.S.-born netminder.

MCDAVID, STAMKOS, OVECHKIN, SUBBAN LEAD ALL-STAR VOTING AFTER WEEK 1
Oilers forward Connor McDavid, Lightning forward Steven Stamkos, Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin and Predators defenseman P.K. Subban are the top vote-getters after one week of voting in the 2018 NHL All-Star Fan Vote. The leading vote-getter from each division – regardless of position – will be named All-Stars and captains for the 2018 Honda NHL All-Star Game in Tampa (Jan. 28 at 3:30 p.m. ET).

NHL’S TOP CLUBS HIGHLIGHT 9-GAME SLATE
The Eastern Conference-leading Lightning (19-6-2, 40 points) and the Kings (18-8-3, 39 points), who sit tied for first place in the Western Conference, are both in action on Thursday looking to continue their impressive seasons:

Nikita Kucherov, who leads Tampa Bay with 19-21—40 in 27 games, sits one goal shy of reaching the 20-goal mark for the fourth consecutive season. After reaching the 20-goal mark on Feb. 7 last season, Kucherov went four games without a point before scoring a goal in five straight games, a streak that began Feb. 21. Since Feb. 21, 2017, Kucherov has collected 38-36—74 in 49 GP (1.51 P/GP) – the most goals and points by any player in that span.

The Kings, who sit tied with the idle Predators (18-7-3, 39 points), welcome the Senators (9-11-6, 24 points) to Staples Center as they look to extend their win streak to seven games. The Kings have outscored their opponents 23-8 over their last six contests and aim to match their longest run since Oct. 16-31, 2015 (7-0-0).
