OLYMPIC HOCKEY RECAP SATURDAY FEBRUARY 10 2018
2018 Olympic Winter Games (Women), Gangneung, South Korea
- The Canadian Women’s Olympic Hockey Team opened the 2018 Olympic Winter Games with a 5-0 win over the Olympic Athletes from Russia (OAR) at the Kwandong Hockey Centre in Gangneung, South Korea on Sunday night.
- Rebecca Johnston (Sudbury, Ont./Calgary, CWHL), Mélodie Daoust (Valleyfield, Que./Montreal, CWHL) potted two goals for Canada, while Haley Irwin (Thunder Bay, Ont./Calgary, CWHL) added another. Ann-Rénee Desbiens (La Malbaie, Que./University of Wisconsin, WCHA) earned the shutout in her Olympic debut, turning away 18 shots.
