This marks the third of five matchups in 2015-16 between these division rivals, who currently would meet in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The teams have split their first two head-to-head contests, with each winning on the road: Pittsburgh on Oct. 28 at Verizon Center (3-1 W) and Washington on Dec. 14 at CONSOL Energy Center (4-1 W). The Capitals and Penguins will close their regular-season series with two more games: March 20 in Pittsburgh and April 7 in Washington.
