Red Wings vs Bruins, Oct 29 – PIX

The Detroit Red Wings joined forces with the American Cancer Society to host the club’s annual Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night last night (Oct 29, 2016) at Joe Louis Arena as the Red Wings took on the Boston Bruins.

More than 60 cancer patients, survivors and caretakers from American Cancer Society experienced the game from the Rehmann Suite Level as guests of captain Henrik Zetterberg, defenseman Brendan Smith and the Red Wings. Additionally, all fans attending the Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night received an official “I Fight For” rally towel, courtesy of the Detroit Red Wings.

Fans also had an opportunity to support the American Cancer Society through the purchase of player-autographed Mystery Pucks and 50/50 Raffle tickets and an online auction of lavender player-used Red Wings Hockey Fights Cancer equipment.

Proceeds from fundraising efforts last night benefit the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery program and provide transportation to and from treatment for Metro Detroit cancer patients.

n average, each $10 donation provides one ride for a cancer patient to reach vital services.
