Return of Live Boxing to Windsor’s Waterfront this Sunday

Border City Boxing has announced the return of live Boxing to Downtown Windsor’s Festival Plaza this Sunday with “Rumble on The River” Presented by Liuna 625. The event will follow on the heels of the amazing Police and Fire Can-Am Games.

“We will have a complete setup with food and beverage vendors. We will be transforming the riverfront into a boxing venue for a great family friendly show. Our kids are super excited to be able to perform in their hometown and in such a great venue, it’s going to be another wonderful event in our city.” says Border City Boxing’s Executive Director and president of Element Entertainment Renaldo Agostino.
6x World Champion Jeanine Garside will be the master of ceremonies!

Sonny Borrelli will be our official ring announcer and there will be live music and a dj!

This event marks the return of live boxing to Festival Plaza since 2018 and will be an all-ages, family-friendly event featuring fighters from five Windsor and Essex County boxing clubs.

The Border City Boxing Club was established in 1988 and has developed Champions in both the Amateur and Professional ranks.  From Provincial and State Championships, to National Titles, to Commonwealth Games and Continental Gold Medals, to Professional North American and World Titles, Border City has brought home and array of Medals and Belts to Windsor.  Located on Drouillard Road, Border City serves a blue-collar neighbourhood and is involved in several outreach programs to get kids off the street and into the gym where they can learn the discipline of “the Sweet Science.”  In addition to its competitive program and recreational classes, Border City also offers Kids’ Classes, Women’s self-defence classes, and “Rock Steady” classes, designed to help participants with Parkinson’s Disease fight the symptoms of Parkinson’s with forced, intense boxing exercises.  There is a little bit of everything for everyone at Border City.
