Saints Volleyball Players Honoured at OCAA Awards

St. Clair Women’s Volleyball Players Honoured at OCAA Awards

Three members of the St. Clair College women’s volleyball team were recognized at the OCAA Championship Awards Banquet on Thursday morning in Toronto. The banquet took place prior to the start  of the OCAA Championship which is being hosted by Georgian College. 

Jessica Masse (Cottam) and Julie Ann Milling (Woodstock) were named West Division 2nd Team All-Stars. Masse a third year Middle with the Saints was 4th in the entire OCAA averaging 0.72 blocks/set. She was also 6th in the OCAA with a .313 attack percentage..  Milling a second year Libero with St. Clair led the entire OCAA with 3.76 digs/set. Both Milling and Masse are graduating from the Fitness & Health Promotion Program

Te-Anna Stephenson (Whitby) was named to the OCAA All-Rookie Team. Stephenson led the Saints in scoring average and was tied for 9th in the OCAA with 3.4 points/set.

The Saints will be taking on the host Centennial Colts at 6 pm on Thursday night in the OCAA Quarterfinal Match. 

St. Clair Men’s Volleyball Player also Honoured at OCAA Awards

A member of the St. Clair College men’s volleyball team was also recognized at the OCAA Championship Awards Banquet on Thursday morning in Barrie. The banquet took place prior to the start  of the OCAA Championship which is being hosted by Georgian College.

Ubert Batista (Panama) was named to the OCAA All-Rookie Team. Batista, who plays Middle, led the Saints in attack percentage with a .371 average and led the team with 0.51 blocks/set.

The St. Clair men ended the regular season with a record of 10-8 in the OCAA West Division and tied for 4th. However, the Saints ended up missing out on qualifying for the OCAA Championship after dropping their playoff qualifier 3-0 to Fleming College.
