Saints Volleyball Recap January 18 2023

Big Win on the Road for St. Clair Men’s Volleyball

The St. Clair men’s volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule on the road on Wednesday night when they travelled to Kitchener to take on the Conestoga Condors. The Saints came away with a much needed hard fought 3-1 win.

Set scores for St. Clair were 22-25, 26-24, 25-19 and 25-18.

Rookie outside hitter Kale Wilkinson (Windsor; Riverside) had a huge game with 18 kills (484 kill %), 1 service ace and 6 digs. Rookie outside hitter Eric Glos (Tecumseh; Tecumseh Vista) also had a great match with 9 kills, 1 service ace and 3 digs.

With the win St. Clair’s record now sits at 5-7 while the Condors dropped to 2-10.

The Saints are next in action on Sunday when they travel to Welland to take on the Niagara Knights at 4 pm.

St. Clair Women’s Fall Volleyball Fall to Conestoga

The St. Clair women’s volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule on Wednesday as they travelled to Kitchener to take on the Conestoga Condors. The Saints struggled on the night losing the match 3-0.

Set scores for Conestoga were 26-24, 25-20, and 25-16.

Second year outside hitter Kiana Huggins (London; Saunders Secondary) had a solid game for the Saints with 11 kills, and 5 digs.

With the loss St. Clair’s record dropped to 9-3 while Conestoga improved to 10-2. The Saints are ranked 4th in Ontario while the Condors are ranked 3rd.

The Saints are next in action on Sunday when they travel to Welland to take on the Niagara Knights at 2 pm.
