Saints Volley Weekend Recap October 27, 2024

St. Clair Men’s Volleyball Defeat Fanshawe

The St. Clair College men’s volleyball team opened their OCAA home schedule on Saturday afternoon by defeating the Fanshawe Falcons 3-0. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-15, 26-24, and 25-21.

Outsider hitter Kale Wilkinson (Windsor; Riverside) led the way offensively for the Saints with 14 kills, 3 service aces and 1 stuff block. Middle Zach Walls (Amherstburg; Villanova) also had a big game with 8 kills, 3 service aces and 1 stuff block. Setter Nick Kwiatkowski (Essex; Essex District) had a great match as well dishing out 33 assists and adding 1 kill, 2 service aces, 1 stuff block and 2 digs.

The Saints improved to 2-1 on the season while Fanshawe dropped to 2-1. The Saints are ranked 9th in Ontario while the Falcons are ranked 2nd.

St. Clair is next in action on Friday, November 1 at 8 pm when they host the Conestoga Condors at the Sportsplex.

St. Clair Women’s Volleyball Improve to 3-0

The St. Clair College women’s volleyball team opened their OCAA home schedule on Saturday afternoon by defeating the Fanshawe Falcons 3-1. Set scores for St. Clair were 23-25, 25-8, 25-23, and 25-19.

Third year middle Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Maratha) led the way offensively for the Saints with 13 kills, 3 service aces and 2 stuff blocks. Second year outside hitter Brianne Hobbin (Guelph; Centennial CVI) also had a big game with 13 kills, 5 service aces and 6 digs. Setter Emma Clements (Windsor; Holy Names) had a great match as well dishing out 38 assists and adding 1 kill, 1 service ace, 1 stuff block and 11 digs.

The Saints improved to 3-0 on the season while Fanshawe dropped to 1-2. The Saints are ranked 2nd in Ontario while the Falcons are ranked 9th
