Seasonal Boat Ramp Passes on Hold in LaSalle
The Town of LaSalle will not be selling seasonal boat ramp passes at this time. Water levels are predicted to remain high on the Great Lakes and Detroit River in 2020 making the future operational status of the LaSalle Boat Ramp, located at Gil Maure Park on Front Road at Laurier Drive, currently unknown.
Normally, annual LaSalle Boat Ramp Passes are available for purchase beginning in January each year. They are valid for the season when the boat ramp is open, which is usually from the beginning of April until the beginning of October. An early bird rate is offered to LaSalle residents from January until March 31. As of April the regular rate is offered to all users.
The LaSalle Boat Ramp was closed for about 10 days in July 2019 due to overland flooding in the area. When it re-opened, only one of the ramps was usable. At that time, boat ramp pass holders were able to request a 50% refund for the season.
Members of the public wishing to purchase a seasonal boat ramp pass are encouraged to call the front desk at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex at 519-969-7771 to let staff know that they are interested in purchasing the pass. Their name will be added to a wait list, and they will be called if boat ramp passes become available. The early bird rate will be available for LaSalle residents at that time.
About 300 seasonal boat ramp passes are sold annually in LaSalle. The costs are as follows: Seasonal pass $150, Senior (ages 55+) Seasonal Pass $110, and Early Bird Seasonal Pass $90. The daily rate $13.
Information and updates about seasonal boat ramp passes will be shared on the Town of LaSalle’s website and social media pages.
