Windsor Spitfires Claim Cedric Schiemenz Off Re-Entry Waivers

General Manager Warren Rychel has claimed former Kitchener Rangers forward Cedric Schiemenz off CHL re-entry waivers.

Chosen with the 50th overall selection in the 2016 CHL Import Draft, Schiemenz played 49 games during the 2016-17 season, posting three goals and six assists, along with 10 penalty minutes and a minus-8 rating.

After returning to his native Germany, the 18-year-old Berlin native played played 31 games (four goals, 13 assists) with the Dresden Ice Lions, a second division club in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL-2).

Schiemenz will arrive in Windsor on Tuesday and is expecting to be in the lineup when the Spits host the Sarnia Sting on Thursday night (7:05).
