Spitfires to present formal bid for hosting Memorial Cup in 2017.

The Spitfires were informed this morning by the Ontario Hockey League that the club has been invited to present its formal bid for hosting Memorial Cup in 2017.

“Our organization is honoured to be selected to present its bid to host the 2017 MasterCard Memorial Cup. Our committee has been working hard in anticipation of getting this opportunity. It has been a goal since day one of ownership to bring this prestigious event to our region and our devoted fan base. The local host committee will now prepare to make its formal bid presentation to the MasterCard Memorial Cup selection committee in Toronto on April 18th.
