Windsor Spitfires Memorial Cup Parade
The City of Windsor will honour the 2017 Mastercard Memorial Cup winning Windsor Spitfires with a victory parade this Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
“The Spitfire’s players, leadership and ownership have brought so much excitement and pride to our community that this is our way of saying thank you before everyone disperses for the summer” – Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens
Fans and proud residents alike are invited to line the parade route along Ouellette Avenue, from Wyandotte Street north to the Riverfront, prior to the 6:00 p.m. start time.
Spitfires players and of course the Memorial Cup itself will be driven along the parade route and gather at Festival Plaza for speeches and autographs.
“My guys are amazing,” said Thompson. “We saw what they’ve gone through here. We witnessed what they had to go through during that break. It’s an amazing feeling and an amazing thing that those guys did. Everybody bought in no matter who it was, staff, management, ownership and the players. They’re champions for a reason – they’re amazing.” – Second-year Spitfires head coach Rocky Thompson
Championship memorabilia will also be on hand for purchase.
