Windsor Spitfires Nov 3 – Spits Deflate Spirit
Michael DiPietro made 25 saves as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Saginaw Spirit 4-2 at the WFCU Centre in Windsor Thursday night, November 3.
Luke Boka, Aaron Luchuk and Jalen Chatfield all scored a goal and added an assist to pace the Spitfires (11-4-0) offensively while Jeremiah Addison had Windsor’s other goal and was also involved in the team’s second fight of the season.
The first star of the game, however, was the Spits’ Juluis Nattinen. The second round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in 2015 chipped in with an assist while turning in an outstanding defensive performance that saw him twice strip the puck off of Saginaw players who were were closing in on breakaways on DiPietro.
The game also marked the return to the Windsor lineup of defenceman Mikhail Sergachev, who re-joined the club after playing three games with the Montreal Canadiens last month. He did not figure in the game’s scoring but did take two minor penalties.
Mike Davies and Cole Coskey scored for the Spirit (2-10-2-1) while Evan Cormier made 29 saves.
The Spitfires are off until Sunday afternoon when they host the Barrie Colts at the WFCU Centre.
