St. Clair College Women’s Basketball Add Brantford’s Overeem

The St. Clair College Women’s Basketball team are welcoming the addition of Lauren Overeem (Brantford, ON) in preparation for the 2022-23 campaign.

The 5’6″ Overeem is a product of Brantford’s St. John’s College where she was named Most Valuable Player in both basketball and soccer which helped her earn the Mildred Kennedy Award. Comfortable at all guard positions Overeem guided her high school team to the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association title three years in a row and competed at the JUEL level with the Tri-County Soldiers.

Saints Head Coach Andy Kiss complimented, “Lauren is an elite defender, an elite teammate and has elite character along with being a reliable scorer. She’s been a coaches’ dream at every level and as has invariably led the team in hustle plays like taking charges and gaining loose balls.”

Kiss continued, “She comes from winning programs at St. John’s College and Tri-County JUEL which is always a plus. You win with impact players like Lauren, and she is a fantastic addition to the Saints program.”

Overeem was an Honour Roll student at St. John’s College along with being an Ontario Scholar who will be attending St. Clair’s Veterinary Technician program.
