St. Clair College Men’s Baseball Host Centennial in Home Opener

The St. Clair College Men’s Baseball team is off to a 3-0 start early in their OCAA season and host Centennial College (Scarborough) in their home opener Saturday for a doubleheader starting at 1pm at Mic Mac Park’s Cullen Stadium field.

This will be a battle of unbeaten teams as the Colts are also 3-0 to start the year with Luke Ciavoliello (Brampton, ON) leading his team in batting average (.500) and runs batted in (5) while also throwing five innings of no-hit baseball on the mound.  Centennial will be rabbits on the base paths as former Saint Riley Briggs (Whitby, ON) tops the OCAA with five stolen bases but is joined by Cameron James (Scarborough, ON) and Owen Nichols (North York, ON) at four apiece.

Catcher/pitcher Henry Real (Panama City, Panama) leads St. Clair in batting and is second in the OCAA with a .667 average to go with three rbi’s.  Hunter Appleyard (LaSalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) is batting .500 while adding his speed to the attack securing three stolen bases.  Carter Reh (Harrow, ON/Kingsville) is also very steady at the top of the lineup batting .444 and four stolen bases.  Colin Robinson (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) is supplying timely power and leads the OCAA in home runs with three to go with a .400 batting average.

On the bump the Saints have several options including Tyler Brown-Amlin (Windsor, ON/Sandwich), Gareth Mann (Ajax, ON) and Cody Moore (LaSalle, ON/Sandwich) who all have not allowed an earned run in the pitching appearances.
