St. Clair Men’s Volleyball Move into First Place

The St. Clair men’s volleyball team headed up to the Hamilton area this past weekend and came home with two solid wins.

On Friday night, the Saints were in Hamilton to take on the Mohawk Mountaineers and came away with a 3-1 win. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-18, 19-25, 25-19 and 25-16. With the loss Mohawk’s record fell to 6-8 on the season.

Second year outside hitter Kale Wilkinson (Windsor; Riverside) led the way for the Saints with 11 kills, 2 service aces, 2 stuff blocks and 2 digs. Second year outside hitter Eric Glos (Tecumseh; Tecumseh Vista) also had a big game with 12 kills, 2 service aces and 5 digs.

On Saturday afternoon, St. Clair was in Ancaster to take on the Redeemer Royals and won handily 3-0. Set scores for the Saints were 25-15, 25-17,and 25-19. With the loss Redeemer’s record fell to 4-11 on the year.

Third year middle Jonah Certossi (Belle River; Belle River District) led the way for the Saints with 7 kills, 2 service aces, 3 stuff blocks and 1 assist.

With the two wins, the St. Clair men are now 11-3 on the season and in first place in the OCAA West Division. The Saints are ranked 2nd in Ontario and 9th in Canada.

St. Clair Women’s Volleyball Win Two on the Road

The St. Clair women’s volleyball team headed up to the Hamilton area this past weekend and came home with two convincing wins.

On Friday night, the Saints were in Hamilton to take on the Mohawk Mountaineers and came away with a solid 3-0 win. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-14, 25-17 and 25-20. With the loss Mohawk’s record fell to 8-6 on the season. The Mountaineer women are currently ranked 8th in Ontario.

Third year outside hitter Kiana Huggins (London, Saunders) led the way for the Saints with 10 kills, 6 service aces, 1 stuff block, 2 assists and 5 digs.

On Saturday afternoon, St. Clair was in Ancaster to take on the Redeemer Royals and won by a score of 3-1. Set scores for the Saints were 16-25, 25-18, 25-16,and 25-15. With the loss Redeemer’s record fell to 8-7 on the year. The Royals are ranked 10th in the OCAA.

Third year middle Krista Nichol (Hamilton; Westmount) had a big game for the Saints with 5 kills, 4 service aces, 4 stuff blocks, 2 digs and 1 assist.

With the two wins, the St. Clair women are now 12-2 on the season and in second place in the OCAA West Division. The Saints are currently ranked 2nd in Ontario and 8th in Canada.
