St. Clair Women’s Golf Team Wins Silver & Men Win Division II
The Saints women’s team ended up bringing home the silver medals. Shannon Coffey (Windsor; FJ Brennan) had a solid final round shooting an 84. Coffey missed out on a gold medal by one stroke. Shannon had won an individual silver medal in 2019. Her three day total was 257. Sophia Fallea (LaSalle; Villanova) had another decent shooting a 91 to end up in 6th place. Meaghan Schaafsma (Essex; Essex District) ended the tournament in 8th place. For the women three players play with the top two scores counting.
The Saints men team ended up winning the Division II Championship with a three day total of 1032 . There is a cut after two rounds and the Saints narrowly missed the Division I field but held on to win Division 2 in the final round. Five players play for each team with the best four scores counting each day.
First year player Andrew Pillon (St. Joachim; Belle River District) had another solid round shooting a 79 for a three day total of 238 and tied for 11th out of 50 golfers. Other team members for St. Clair were Kyle Hameliy (1st Year; Burlington; Corpus Christi), Bradley Roughton (2nd Year; Belle River; Belle River District), Kayden Stammler (1st Year; Comber; Kingsville District) and Simon Desmarais (3rd Year; Windsor; FJ Brennan).
