St. Clair Women’s Soccer Off to OCAA Championship

After a huge upset win this past Saturday, the St. Clair women’s soccer team will travel to Toronto to take part in the OCAA Championship from October 25-27. The event is being hosted by Seneca College.

This will be the 5th consecutive year that the Saints have qualified for the Championship.

The Saints will play their OCAA quarter-final match on Thursday at 7 pm against the top ranked Humber Hawks. The Hawks finished in 1st place in the OCAA Central Division with a record of 10 wins and 0 losses. They scored 52 goals while allowing 0. Humber is ranked 1st in the OCAA and 4th in Canada.

St. Clair finished the regular season with a record of 3 wins, 5 losses and 2 ties good for 4th place in the West Division. The Saints scored 20 goals and allowed 17 against. The Saints are led offensively by Cassie Rose-Medeiros (London; John Paul II) who scored 5 goals in 11 games and Cassie Nicholas(Windsor, Holy Names) who scored 5 goals in 11 games. St. Clair has a young squad this season with half of the players being rookies on the roster. Centre Back Ravneet Rana (Windsor; Riverside) will have to continue her strong play on the back end for the Saints to have a chance.
