St. Clair Women’s Soccer Earn Shutout on the Road

The Saints got off to a strong start in Sarnia Tuesday afternoon when Cassie Nicholas (Windsor, ON) scored on a free kick in the 15th minute. The 5th year veteran curled the ball over a wall of defenders and into the bottom corner of the net to give the Saints the lead.

Just before the half, Melissa Watson (London, ON) scored the second goal of the game for the Saints after a Lambton turnover in the box, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.

In a tightly contested second half, St. Clair found the back of the net for a third time when Chloe Dender (LaSalle, ON) capitalized on a second chance opportunity in the 64th minute. The Saints would hold the three-goal lead for the remainder of the game, giving goalkeeper Athena Dimario Done (Windsor, ON) the shutout, her first as a Saint. Dimario Done made 7 saves in the win.

The Saints are back in action on Saturday when they head to Kitchener to play the Conestoga Condors at 2 pm.
