St. Clair Women’s Volleyball Earn OCAA Awards
Three members of the St. Clair College’s women’s volleyball team received OCAA Award recognition on Monday afternoon.
Chantal DeVlugt was honoured as a member of the West Division Second All Star Team. DeVlugt is a 6’0 second year outside hitter and is from Wyoming where she graduated from LCCVI. Chantal is taking the Architectural Technology program.
DeVlugt averaged 3.3 points/set which includes 2.84 kills/set during regular season play. She also averaged 1.03 digs/set.
Kiana Huggins was named to the OCAA West Division All Rookie Team. Huggins, a London native, is a graduate from Saunders Secondary School and is a 5’9 outside hitter. Kiana is taking the Business Administration Finance program.
Huggins averaged 2.2 points/set during her rookie campaign. She also chipped in with some solid defense averaging 1.84 digs/set.
Sarah Dobinson was named to the OCAA West Division First All Star Team. Dobinson, a Whitby native, is a graduate from Donald A. Wilson Secondary School and is a 6’0 outside hitter. Sarah is studying in the Fitness and Health Promotion program.
Dobinson averaged 4.0 points/set during her first season with the Saints. She averaged 3.46 kills/set which was good enough for second place in the entire OCAA. She also contributed with some great defense averaging 1.93 digs/set.
The St. Clair women ended the COVID shortened season with a record of 6-3 and in 4th place in the OCAA West Division. The Saints lost their playoff match 3-2 to the fifth place Niagara Knights.
