St. Mary’s defeates St. Clair by a score of 82-72 in CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship – Game #11.

St. Mary’s University used a strong fourth quarter to defeat host St. Clair in the 7th Place game Saturday afternoon at the CCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship hosted at the SportsPlex.

The Lightning put up 28 points in the fourth quarter with Montana Romeril (Calgary, AB) scoring 12 of her game high 34 points in the period.  Shooting a perfect 16 for 16 from the free throw line Romeril claimed the Player of the Game Award for St. Mary’s.  St. Clair was leading 37-34 at halftime but caught out of position too often on defense allowed St. Mary’s to score 26 points from the charity stripe.

Jaide Lyons (Windsor, ON) was St. Clair’s Player of the Game and ended her career scoring 19 points and narrowly missed a double-double with 9 rebounds.
