Windsor Express Support Stroke Survivor, Darquetta Banks

Windsor Express players will be taking stroke survivor Darquetta Banks out on a dinner date this Wednesday, March 16th at SnackBar-B-Q downtown Windsor.
Darquetta is a young brain stem stroke survivor. At the time that the stroke occurred, Darquetta was alone in her apartment and laid unconscious for nearly 24 hours until found. Prior to the stroke, Darquetta made the move to Toronto to focus on finishing her degree in fashion design and merchandising. Her dreams are postponed but definitely not lost.
Darquetta is progressing forward and working hard to reclaim her life of independence. Described as fierce, young, intelligent and beautiful, Darquetta is determined to not just survive, but thrive on her road to recovery.
There will be a benefit event for Darquetta on Saturday, April 23rd at the Caboto Club. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased through their website, or by calling Dashelda Banks (Darquetta’s sister) at 519-990-7477.
