2018 IIHF World Juniors Team Canada December 30 Roundup – Buffalo, N.Y.
Team Canada wrapped up preliminary round play at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship December 30 with a 8-0 win over Denmark.
The win secured Canada first-place in the Group A standings heading into the quarter-finals.
- Brett Howden (Oakbank, Man./Moose Jaw, WHL) led the way with a pair of goals, while Drake Batherson (New Minas, N.S./Cape Breton, QMJHL), Alex Formenton (King City, Ont./London, OHL), Cale Makar(Calgary/University of Massachusetts, HE), Michael McLeod (Mississauga, Ont./Mississauga, OHL), Sam Steel (Sherwood Park, Alta./Regina, WHL) and Robert Thomas (Aurora, Ont./London, OHL) rounded out the scoring.
- Cal Foote (Kelowna, B.C./Kelowna, WHL) added three assists in the game.
- It was back-to-back starts for Carter Hart (Sherwood Park, Alta./Everett, WHL) who made 18 saves for the shutout, and his second win in three tournament starts.
- Canada outshot Denmark 44-18 in the game.
