Team Canada East defeated the Czech Republic 3-2 in a quarter-final in Whitby, Ont.
- Tyler Rollo (Burlington, Ont./Oakville, OJHL) scored goals three minutes apart midway through the third period, breaking open a 1-1 tie, and the easterners held off a late Czech charge to advance and set up an all-Canadian semifinal match-up against Team Canada West.
