TIGERS AGREE TO TERMS WITH ZACH McALLISTER ON MAJOR LEAGUE CONTRACT

The Detroit Tigers have agreed to terms on a Major League contract with righthanded pitcher Zach McAllister.

McAllister, 30, has made 41 appearances with the Cleveland Indians this season, posting a 1-2 record with a 4.97 ERA (41.2IP/23ER) and 34 strikeouts.

An eight-year veteran at the Major League level, all with the Indians, McAllister has appeared in 277 games, including 68 starts, in his career, compiling a 29-35 record with one save, a 3.99 ERA (588.1IP/261ER) and 537 strikeouts.

A native of Peoria, IL, McAllister was originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the third round of the 2006 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

To make room for McAllister on the 40-man roster, the Tigers have designated righthanded pitcher Jacob Turner for assignment.
